I would suggest you to go for ritz if you like it's look. It is a great combination of Space, engine, performance. If you consider maitenance and resale value, total ownership cost will be least compared to Punto and Vista. Ritz is a better package compared to Swift. All the best.

Dear Khanna, days have gone when Fiat Padmini Premier was the queen of the roads in late 70s and 80s. After that Fiat has got no success in India. Palio, Palio D, Uno, NE118 all hatchbacks got bad response from public. Now it has come up with this Punto. The same is going to happen with this too. In diesel hatchback Swift is the only best option. But it would be costly too. And for Vista.. Please dont go for that.. and let it be remain with taxi drivers. Its their favourite, Indica. Sorry if indica lovers get hurting. But its true Tata has a long list of unsuccessful vehicles except their trucks and buses. Namely, Tata Siera, Tata mobile (its now used for carring cement bags in citi), Tata estate, Tata Sumo, Tata spacio, Tata Victa... and the latest is Tata Safari.. oh and there is Nano also. Though they are doing their best for making good vehicles but they have no colaboration with any foreign manufacturer. So till date still waiting for a success in Cars / SUVs.

Punto diesel would be your choice

Fiat is giving free insurance and dealer is giving free extendend warranty from 10-Oct-2009 to 24-Oct-2009 as a Deewali offer. All those who are booking Punto or taking delivery or those who are considering to buy before Deewali, ask you dealer about this. That is cool 20k discount (12-18k on insurance and 5.5k on extended warranty).

Punto spare are almost neck in neck with swift diesel.

U can get corporate discount upto Rs 6000 to 8000.

Freebies u can get are floor mats,boot mats,teflon coating or antirust coating  and may be sun film.

Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Active( Salem ) ex-showroom price Rs 487823

Add to that road tax

2+2 extended warranty is a must Rs 5,500 Free.

Lostics and handling charges Rs 4,500

Get the registration done by ur youself as u will save a lot of money

Get  loan directly as u will save a lot of money.

Axis bank(8%) and SBI are providing good intrest rates.So visit the bank directly for the loan.

Note I am no way assoiated with any of the above mentioned ones.I have mentioned what i did when i bought my Punto in Hyderabad.Hope it will be useful for u.

Narendrasingh then every one only buy a maruthi.All the other manufacture are all unsucessfull and are no good loosers so u stick that suggestion only.

Did u know the so called Swift diesel is actually designes and produced by Fiat.So maruti is the mercy of Fiat

Sorry but had to give an arrogant reply

@Bhardwaj

Yes the diesel engine is from fiat.

@Prasanna

I like the looks of punto but still i will suggest swift diesel because of poor after sales service of Fiat.Maruti on the other hand will be way better in service,resale value and overall satisfaction.

Touch choice between Swift/Ritz, Punto and Vista. If you are considering the petrol variant only, Vista petrol is really underpowered in my opinion. If you are considering diesel all are good contenders.

Don't listen to all craps of Vista looking like Indica/taxi, blah blah. All that matters is a good car. And Vista is the most spacious car in the segment, in fact more spacious than even C and C+ segment sedans of 10L. It has no parts/platform shared with Indica V2. On the other hand, Swift is a little cramped, harsh on ride, specially back seat (tends to throw you up in every brake/bump). Performance wise, Swift is the best, being the lightest and most suitable for highway drives because of taller gears. Vista and Punto are heavy and have short gearing. Once you get used to the gears you will find them good enough, but remember its weight. Vista currently does not have any ABS or Airbag options. Swift has ABS, but not the airbag except in petrol ZXi. Punto is loaded, but will be priced accordingly. Punto will be the cheapest to maintain and also the safest. However, Vista and Swift/Ritz are the ones that sell in volumes at the moment. Punto might pick up in the future, but if it doesn't then you know the fate of vehicles that don't sell. But then, how will it sell if people don't buy? Catch 20. If I were in your situation, I would buy the Punto or if I cared for performance and could push my budget, I would directly go to i20 diesel.
