Hi

Fiat is giving free insurance and dealer is giving free extendend warranty from 10-Oct-2009 to 24-Oct-2009 as a Deewali offer. All those who are booking Punto or taking delivery or those who are considering to buy before Deewali, ask you dealer about this. That is cool 20k discount (12-18k on insurance and 5.5k on extended warranty).

I would suggest u go for punto 1.4 petrol dynamic which will cost u on road Rs 516822

Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Active( Salem ) ex-showroom price Rs 487823

Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 Active( Salem ) ex-showroom price Rs 468817

Add to that road tax

2+2 extended warranty is a must Rs 5,500 Free.

Lostics and handling charges Rs 4,500

Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 Dynamic( Salem ) on road price = 468817(Ex showroom price)+0(Free insurance)+0(Free extended warranty)+41,005(Road tax)+2500(registration)+4500(Handling charges)= Rs 516822

Fiat Grande Punto Punto 1.4 Dynamic( Salem ) on road price Rs 516822

Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Active( Salem ) on road price = 487823(Ex showroom price)+0(Free insurance)+0(Free extended warranty)+42,526(Road tax)+2500(registration))+4500(Handling charges) = Rs 537349

Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Active( Salem ) on road price Rs 537349

To me Swift is having good looks compared to punto or indica.....front looks is manly, sturdy and terrifying.........handling is superb...easy overtaking...can touch 150km/hr with ease..VDI model is coming with ABS..so you are always secured....swift diesel engine is great compared to petrol...It is neitther spacious nor crampy...good service,,,

i think der is one fault in swift diesel....when u have A/C in 3 position and suddenly if u press the clutch to slow down probably when u reach near a signal the  engine stops automatically...dis has suprised me arnd 5 times...not always...

Have anyone faced this?

We had a indica V2 DLS long back..was not too bad..but it is not good...no pick up but was spacious....sounds like tata 407 not sure how indica vista sounds..its very cheap but an indian make unlike japanese suzuki.....dont knw hw reliable in future....I bet it cannot beat the swift in acceleration segment..

punto was released in europe.hve seeen it in UK since 2004..but it wasnt looking good at tht time..now indian version looking better......I didnt go for a test drive yet think it shud be ok car...think its pricy thn swift....looks bit hifi than swift in interiors...think ground clearance is less...dont knw hw powerful it is......

i wud suggest go for swift as it is not a failure model after tested by so many public..punto not sure.....

whatever you do don't get the swift as they are gonna change the engine to the new k series engine. you should go for ritz if want a car now and want to stick to maruti.

i would go for the punto! if you want looks, performance, best handling and ride quality amongst all hatches!

indica vista for comfort and space!

and swift for rattles and cramped backspace lolz.

they all have the same engine. from fiat but its tuned differently! the lightest car is the swift the heavy car is the fiat! but heavy is good for highway stability and ride quality!

That's somewhat true.  The Swift and Punto share the same engine, but the Fiat is tuned differently.  Also, the Punto weighs around 150 kgs more.  It's definitely not underpowered, but it's also not as perky as the Swift.  Punto will provide you an exceptional ride quality and safety, while not (really) compromising on performance.
