Wanted suggestion and help, I am facing issue with central locking.

Currently, the central locking provided with the Ford Fiesta ZXI 2009 is not solving my purpose. Anyone at any seat can lock and unlock.

I need to manually lock the door after starting the vehicle.

Especially, My wife and kid sits in the front seat and my kid can pull the lever anytime.

So, little worried about this.Is there any way, that locking can be done only at driver's seat and no other can open the lock?

This would really be useful for me. Please look out for options and help me in this regard.

Other than this, car is fantastic and am enjoying the drive.

Hi Kiran,

Every Central locking in car works the same way, you can lock/unlock from any of the door and you can lock all the doors just using driver's/passenger's(in most cars) door. There is nothing wrong happen with your central locking system. If you are worried about the door which can be unlocked by your kid, simply use the child lock feature/switch  (I think this is available in only rear door) so the door will not open from inside and it will need to open from outside, refer the car user manual to find out the child lock switch location on your rear door.

Hi Neo, Thanks for the reply.

one of the concern is, say a person sitting at rear opens the lock, all doors gets unlocked.

Is there a feature, where driver can lock and no other open until the driver unlocks it.

In Tata indica, the lock nob was different. it was next to lever. So, it was first unlock and open.

Whereas in ford, lever and lock both are same, push and it will lock, to unlock, just pull out.

I hope I am not confusing you.

Hi kiran,

I agree with your concern, as my car has the same problem and we have discussed this with ford technical team also. I think we need to take this issue with ford company only and raise this issue to the highest level. It is one of the very unsafe feature in such a high class vehicle. I am having FOr Fiesta titanium model-2011.

I want other Ford owners to comment on this thread.
