Hi all,

I have been an addict to carwale forum for years now and finally my dream came true this week, I booked Wagon R Lxi in chennai for 3.7L on road (accessories Sony with 2 speakers, remote keys, sun film, mud flap, floor mat) Is this a good deal?? or should I ve to press for more accessories or on discounts. What are the other accessories Shouyld I ve to add on to this???

Please give your valuable suggesions.

I opted for WAgon R cos Im 6'3" and I ll be driving over 50km per day in city and my highway usage would be 300km per month. We are only 3 in our family and back space is not much of an important as of now.

Regards,

Arun

Hi Arun,

If you are going to drive 50 Km’s per day, please go for a Diesel car. Also you seem to have some highway usage. I would say go for a Ritz. It is a very good car.

Also you seem to have got a decent deal. Anyways it is worth a try to get seat covers + body covers as well. Make sure that the Music system that you buy has a USB port because the normal SONY DVD player sometimes breaks music on bumpy roads.

Ok, I ve a very tight budget and i cant strech further. That y I ve opted for Wagon R... Hope it does well. Sure Ill ask for the system with USB and covers too. Since this is Diwali time.. I tried to get addiational discount but in vain. Also he said that I can take one from Kenwood, Pioneer and Sony and I prefered sony. Any more suggestions????

First of all, Congratulations for booking your first car!

But with your kind of usage a diesel car is always better. Running around 1800 kms per month is huge and Petrol car is not economical. You are saving some good amount at the time of buying Wagon-r but in the end you will feel the Monthly Fuel bill is too much. Still you can check out whether you can stretch a bit and pick a diesel car or not?

Otherwise as you are tall Wagon-r is a good choice.

People dont change when you tell them that there is a Better option... They change when they realise that there is No Other Option..

Arun, You are the best judge for your budget but it puzzles me how someone can afford the extra expense on Petrol by running 1800 Km monthly and not pay the extra EMI for a diesel variant. I am sure that you might have done your Maths and you understand the budget best. But you can opt for the Vista it would be around 4.2-4.3L. Even that will be a good bet. Quadrajet is the one which is more expensive.

Incase you have already made up your mind, Wagon-R is a good car. Enjoy the car.

Good Luck.

In any case, you can get your LXI Wagon-R fitted with a LPG kit later on.
