Jey. Anshu has clreard your query. Just to share an experience.

I was once traveling in Germany Autobhan the MACCA of drivers. We were in my friends Nissan 2 door traveling at the speed of 180Km per hr. I was quite young thenWink. It was my first drive on Autobhan then. I was too excited with the speed as it was my first time where I saw 180 on the odometer & we were overtaking quite a few cars. Mt friend use to overtake & cut it back in the right lane(LH drive). Once after overtaking a car he immidiatly moved to his right  & I asked why??? just continue & let us overtake few more. He just smiled at me & said wait for 2 sec. & what a site at that ageSurprised. There was a Black Lamborgini right next to us for a sec. After that I just heard a thud & VROOMMMMMM.. It just overtook us & disappereerd. remember we are at the speed of 180km. What happanes if we were still in the left lane not allowing him to overtake us???

My friend gave me a lesson of my life . You shoudl always keep a waych in your rearview as theer is always some one faster then you follows you. There are always better car & worst driver then youSmile.

Cheers..

Yes Satish i understand. One more issue i had observed twice on Indian Highways. On 2 different occasions when was on the right lane at the speed of 80-90KMPH.on 1st occasion there was one a man with a child jumped direclty on the road from the median (not at the median crossing though). The median was having some plants which had blinded my eyes of seeing him crossing through the median. I had to do a complete brake and the car had to come to a complete halt.

On other occasion, it was a cow that jumped out of a median with out prior intimation Wink. On both the occasion, if i had been on the left lane i would have had that extra 2-3 seconds to adjust.

Now i know the importance of keeping left. Will follow this strictly.

What autobahn dude, very humble cars here in India go 190+ on the expressway. For those who have the car and the control, this IS autobahn. But be careful, lot of cops these days, and lot of bookings. They won't let you off easily, you know....you know.

Be careful and drive safe. On the expressway, the guy going at 200 is expecting you to not change your lane without looking into mirror well - he is making assumptions that he has the right to make, though he is breaking the rules on speed limit.

Another observation : Some people try to be the 'regulators' - they are driving at 80 on the fast lane and they stick to the fast lane with the assumption "I'm already at the speed limit, so nobody should be honking/flashing at me anyway"  -and they never give the side. THIS IS BAD.

Your job is to give side to whoever asks for it - no matter what his speed, no matter what your speed. You are NOT the cops - leave it to the cops to regulate or control speeds. When someone comes faster from behind, give him/her the lane they are expecting.

Yeah right for them u take the safe side which u can use which is mostly the left side & we overtake them & leave them to bite the dust of ur carLaughing. If there is AC in ur car use it it will keep u cool if the climate is not too hot for u so that u don't fight in the middle of the road for small things.Tongue out

Hello,

It was a smooth & enjoyable journey for me..the first time ever drive of around 150 Kms that too all alone!

On the expressway I remained in the middle cruising lane for most of the time and below 80 KM. Thanks again for your tips and advice..
