Congrats, for buying your New LINEA, Welcome to LINEA Lovers club. The colour is superb

Thanks a lot, Suresh Babu for your good wishes.

During my trip to Shravana Belagola, Belur & Halebeedu, my Fiat Linea's maximum FE was 17 kmpl with automatic climate control at 21 degrees and 5 occupants.  Here are some photographs:

Hi Ravi -

Congratulations on your new Linea.

I am planning to buy Linea as well and since you have bought it arleady, have few questions for you -

1. How would you compare the average of Linea with Hona City (new model)
2. How would you consider driving pleasure with Honda City (new model)
3. I had initial inhibitions with the customer service of Fiat. What's your take on that
4. You mentioned in your first post about VIN number and why you went for a particular number. Can you pls explain me your reasoning behind it?

Thanks in advance.

Nilesh

hi nilesh,

even i own a linea(though a diesel) and i thought i can throw some light

1.average of city may be one km above linea's but that can be accepted because of the weight of the vehicle which gives you the stability and build

2.driving pleasure is supreme in linea, you have to drive to beleive it,i would always prefer the hydraulic stearing of linea(which is very responsive and gives tremendous feedback)over the electronic steering of ANHC,ride and handling is unparelelled

3.ASS is very prompt and friendly, very cheap spares and maintenance due to the 10k service interval(so half the service charges like those of other cars)

4.vin number is to identify the date of manufacture of the car

ravi will post his opinions

1. How would you compare the average of Linea with Hona City (new model)
   Thanks a lot, Nilesh Sawant.

Autocar India's tested FE figures for Fiat Linea 1.4 FIRE and ANHC 1.5 iVTEC MT are 13.5 and 16.5 kmpl respectively.

2. Driving pleasure in ANHC VMT is superb due to its 1.5 iVTEC powerful, silky smooth and yet fuel-efficient engine.  No second opinion about it: That's why, it is the market leader in that segment!  However, my Fiat Linea's power is adequate and ride and handling excellent.

3. The customer service of Fiat-TATA in my case has been very good, so far.  After taking delivery of my Fiat Linea on 8 October 2009, I received 3 phone calls - 2 from Concorde Motors, Bangalore and 1 from Tata Motors, Pune - requesting for my feed back on services rendered.  I also received a letter from Concorde Motors, Bangalore.  I gave 9 out of 10 for most of the services rendered.  But, in case of overall dealership experience, I gave 6 out of 10 only purely because it is over-crowded and lacks privacy.  I expressed that Fiat-TATA should open exclusive outlet or at least a separate spacious section for Fiat products.  Other than this issue, I am fully satisfied with Fiat-TATA customer service.

4.The VIN of my Fiat Linea has JPZ code, which represents September 2009 make.  As you might have known that A stands for January, B for February..I ignored since it resembles '1', J for September..and M for December.

My Fiat Linea, costing Rs 8.35 lakh, has the following features which the market leader, costing more than Rs 10.62 lakh, does not have, and hence, my selection!                 Blue&Me, media player with voice command, automatic climate control, rear ac vents, 'Follow me home', desmodronic foldable key, service interval of 15,000 km with service due reminder, etc.

Can I flaunt my Linea MJD mileage please?

My drive from Bangalore inside city near Diary Circle (started from 10:30am) till Tindivanam (probably about 250 Kms), it clocked 27.3 Kmpl (less traffic, single accupant, auto climate at 26 outside temperature 36-38).

I'm unable to upload pictures. How do you guys do that? I tried both in IE and firefox. Insert image just didn't work.

   Thanks a lot, Nilesh Sawant.

Thanks much Ravi for the info. I am now reading some of the latest post and read some horrifying stores about the customer service issues with Fiat. Not sure if these are personal experiences vs real stores but they are worrisome.
