Hi,

I am running on the original stocktyre Goodyear 165/65/ r14 tyres.

I need to change the tyres. planning for tubeless on stock rims. What size and brand should i go for.

Michelin / Bridgesone are good ones. How bout Continental / Yokohama. Heard much, that these are also very good and doing well in the market.

Also thinking of alloy wheels..... Minimum for how much would I get them?????

Best to stick with stock tyre sizes, unless there is a widespread belief that the stock tyres are under-specified.

Michelin XM1+ are the best around. Also bridgestone Potenza are good. Try and check treadwear, temperature and speed ratings on the external sidewall of the tyres, when looking for them.

As regards Alloys, unless you are crazy for them, I would recommend not going in for them. there are not many benefits, but it can turn into a big headache if the choice of alloy is not proper. Be sure you get the proper offset wheel, or it will have scraping issues with wheel wells or fenders. I myself would not bother changing to alloys. (Those that come stock with the model of vehicle (if at all) would be the best, and safest choice).

indica turbo tyres ARE undersized, at least in my opinion

you can feel the rear losing control in hard cornering in dry, and the front in the wet.

can upsize to 175/65 or 185/60

my recommends are michelin XM1+ and Apollo acelere. do check if continental has any vfm stuff in your sizes.

yokohama, I'm not a big fan of, but they are supposed to be good.

You can get 14" 108 PCD alloys starting from 13k. i got a quote of 13.5k for a set of 4 neo wheels

Harshad a word of caution here. Please check yoru rim condition throughly & ensure they will be able to takeup tubeless tyres otherwise stick to tube one. 2 of my friends using Indica & Indigo had to put tube after fitting tubeless in their stock rim.

I recently changed tyres in my Palio from Bridgestone tube to Apolo acceleor tube less. Palio stock rims are considerd much better then TATA cars Innocent, still I had to visit tyre shop twice in last 2 monhs to check leakage & repait the same. Still facing minor leakage from my front right tyre.

BTW extreemly happy with Apolo aceler tyres. Absolutly no cabin noise which I always faced in Bridgstone & Good year. Smooth ride & great handling.

All the best

Sathish is right, You need to check your rims for any bends, and straighten them if they are present before putting on tubeless. Else you may suffer faster air loss

@ Omkar.THanks, but  I dont think it makes a difference where I'm from. All it matters is that we are auto enthusiasts, and that should be good enough
