Arunish,

There is no confirm news on Swift K-series model..though it is being said that it can come anytime in Feb but they might delay it too...

We you cannt wait this long and need a car now i would say buy Swift Vxi instead of Lxi.If you can strech your budget Zxi is the best option as you get ABS,Airbags,Alloys,Automatic Climate control

I wouldnt advice Ritz as i dont like the looks and i think if your drive is 80-90% city drive mileage should not be the factor cause there wouldnt not be a major difference for both the cars.

I am booking swift Zxi this weekend

opted out of

punto as i dont like the looks + Haunting of Fiat Factor

I20 as it is over prized(or out of my budget ) + Under power

Swift K series has been discussed earlier see the Link

Dear Gagan, I had same confusion a month ago when I decided to buy a car.

It is natural as there are humpty number of models with various features.

It is good that lot of discussion before finalizing. As far as my self concerned, after many discussion with so many friends in Carwale, I finally opted for Ritz VXi.

I found the car is really good. It is very spacious, milage Iam getting around 17km/l easily - still I have not taken it for first service. Maruti is well proved due to its service net work.

You can really consider Ritz.

I can Confuse you by saying ,you wait till feb 2010,Swift will be sporting the same engine as that of the Ritz i.e KB series.

But is it worth waiting for that car that long?

Precisely, the present swift engine will be tweaked to make it BS-4 compilant, and a all new swift with a longer wheel base is scheduled in early ot mid 2012. Car makers come up with better upgrades/new cars all the time. So how long can you wait? Buy it and be done with it.

Life begins at 1900 rpm.

Dear all

Well first of all let me tell you that presently i am  owning a RITZ Vxi (petrol) which I got on 11 Oct 2009. let me share my owner's experience about this car. I am a happy with this car .My parameter for buying this car was as follows:

  • COMFORT of sitting (ingress & outgress)for my Family old mother & wife(have to bent in small ALTO & M800 which is not comfortable) in very good & Suspension are coil spring type which i have found good but can be better done manage like wagon R GAS SHOCK ABSORBER . Noise & Vibration level are very well manage by the design. Very less noise level sometime does not know whether engine is running or not.
  • MILEAGE - wanted good city driving mileage;which i got it prsently i am getting 13.1 to 13.25KM/liter in bangalore city with 30% AC on & that also my first service is still not done(driven 938 KM as on 30 Oct 2009).
  • MAINTANANCE -good sales after service & less matainance for which Maruti is renouned (will be less on my pockets).
  • SPEED & DRIVING PERFORMANCE- Well i am my 40's i dont like to drive fast like a ferrari driver nor Vrooooooom like drive of todays generation teenagers to impress girls. I am a steady safe driver not crossing 80kmph on highways & 40 to 60kmpl in city limit. I am very much satisfied with the performance of this car as it can handle to city drive & highway with ease & less gear change as well as less body rolls in highway speed.
  • LOOKS- I like the new sportly looks, so i am not bother about the rest of the world how they feel, bcoz they have the metal block of 1990's metal picture of the car. Hence do not appreciate any change.
  • RESALE - Maruti resale value will be alway good so this keep the option of changing to other Brand car with less tension for return money i get bcoz i am assured i will get better deak then other brand.
  • BOOT SPACE- It safisties my small family need as i will freak out on long run once or  twice a year that also within 600km limit. But space provided like Wagon would have been better. Still no complain i am satisfied.
  • CONS - the only problem with this car is BLIND SPOTS. Right hand side A PILLAR one have to be extra cautious if you are taking right turn. I had a near miss with a two wheeler at a crossing, were saved as we both were driving below 30km/h. THANK GOD! Other blind spot is REAR VIEW (ONE FOOT WIDE C PILLAR OBSTRUCTION )  REVERSING of the vehicle one has to be very very cautious & had to move extra neck & head left & right & put head outside using all mirrors (L/M/R). Reversing in narrow bangalore is difficult but not impossible.

Go for Ritz. It is really a good car. My new Baker's Chocolate color Ritz Vxi has done about 2000+ Kms in two months mostly on highways. When I drove at speeds less than 80Kmph during the run-in period, the fuel efficiency was 17Kms/l with AC on.

On my recent trip to Chennai and back, when I drove at speeds touching 100-120Kmph, it clocked 15km/l,  again with AC on most of the time.

I haven't bothered to check the mileage in city driving, since it's a futile exercise here in Bangalore where theaverage speed is less than 12kmph and also I do not use it much. Prefer my Honda Activa in city.Easier to drive and faster.

Hi,

Just reading this thread. I have been waiting for siwft k series since diwali, but no news, shall i go for swift vxi? Can i know the mileage with AC, preferably coimbatore traffic, i'm living in coimbatore. And i love swift for its design but mileage is a factor also. If its 13 with AC that would be fine for me.

Thanks

Suresh

13 with AC in city/traffic is unlikely - can expect 11-11.5.

@Suresh, Swift mileage on city would be 10-12 depends on the driving. If you really want to go for swift, my advise is to wait. But still there is no confirmed news on whether it comes with K series or just a BS IV tuning. So it's a gamble, but worth if you are not in a hurry.

Dear Pankaj Prasad and Bijs

Thanks for your quick reply, i'm really not in a hurry, so i'm gonna wait for the new version of swift, many of them guessing it would be before april 2010, so i'm gonna wait. Really love swift for its design, so i have to wait to get my dream.

Thanks Again. If you get any news on this please let me know.

Thanks
Suresh
