Thanks for detailed review.

There is an option to view the vehicle speed.I can say its not accurate, on smaller speed ( 70 - 80 Km/h) , its somewhat acceptable. But on higher speed, it fails. When we were riding at 180  on express highway, it was actually displaying approx 130 ~ 140 ). But even on that speed, the vehicle position was correctly showing.

Could be combination of delay in GPS system's signal processing combined with additional possibility of error in car speedometer - I have found in lots of cases the speedometer also gets inaccurate once you get towards top end of display.

It can also be exported to KLM format, which is compactable with google earth ( i am not sure, but i read somewhere)

Yes, KLM can be used to display in Google earth - reviewing trip in GE looks nice Cool

The ETA ( Expected time of arrival ) which displays on the top of the screen is not accurate.I dont know how they calculate the time duration. It displayed that we will reach the destination by ~ 16:00, but we actually reached whitefield at 13:00

Generally this is done based on speed limit of various segment of the route road that is suggested - and hence almost always harder to match with actual (unless you are traveling on one road with same speed limit thru out etc. etc.)

Today I had been to Tamarind Tree located near Amruth Nagar Main Road off Kanakapura Road. My MMI Lx130 did not show Tamarind Tree on the map/PoI. But, Google map showed it. Ultimately, I used Google map to know its correct location and access.Frown

When I tried navigation to Sri Krishna Kalyana Mantapa, 18th Main, Jayanagar, my MMI Lx130 showed the location correctly, but without 'Sri' prefix in the PoI. We knew it as we had gone there already. However, when I tried Google Map, it showed two locations, viz., the correct location and another non-existent wrong one near Swagath Garuda Mall. Initially, I got confused and went there only to find that there is no marriage hall! Finally, we made it to the correct location, thanks to my MMI Lx130. Earlier, Google Map correctly showed the location of Tamarind Tree, off Kanakapura Road, but MMI didn't show it at all. So, my observation: No map is perfect.

Ravi, your experience triggered a recall of my own experiences about driving in Delhi. I have a detailed map book (currently looking for a good GPS phone) and still it is difficult to drive to the correct destination without help. And help on the road is mostly confusing and often (maliciously?) wrong. Probably in the north there is no culture of saying "I don't know, better ask somebody else". They will blithely make up instructions and send you on a leather hunt! One has to ask an odd number of people and go by the majority advice.

Interesting to know it is the same with electronic maps. Better have the (now free) ovi maps too as a backup, so you have an odd number (3) of resources! Tongue out

Guys I felt google maps was quite good as during my recent trip of 1100kms in the most remote parts of karnataka, my position, driving direction was accurate. Only thing i noticed was that in my phone, the status function was not showing accurate sppeds, as read in earlier posts.

One more point i observed is that when i sit inside my house, the map shows that i m on the opposite side of the road!! Any suggestions to correct this?
