Suddenly the forum has become a bit repetitive. Recommending basic speaker systems and helping people choose between the vista and the swift and the ritz was fun the first time around, but now its becoming tedious.

Is there any way newbies can be directed onto existing threads or the redundant threads merged? I'm a bit tired of saying the same thing again and again

Keeping couple of reference threads in ICE section can be easy.

Couple of basic informations like choosing the budget, brands etc. Such threads can be made a sticky like I mentioned earlier.

It will be a good idea to club all the 'basic' threads regarding a particular car together. It will be tedious and voluminous. Still it will serve the purpose. The user can read it from behind, which will give him/her a clear idea after reading 2/3 pages.

Common threads regarding cars. I am clueless on how to make common threads over there.

It is generally observed that most of the new comers prefer putting their needs or doubts in a new thread rather than searching or perusing the existing threads.

This comment is not to blame them, but the regular users or gurus who answer them may find it tedious as Steeroid pointed out.

I think even if Sticky threads are there newbies tend to start new threads and ask the same questions.

It is better to answer those questions with links to the existing thread. As the search option is not that much effective now, I think this will relieve from repeating answers.

*Shoutout to Banwari* When is the new search option getting unveiled?? We are at the end of our tether here!!!...Yell

*Now, back to normal* Guys, could a step-by-step guide work well here? or maybe recommend me a car application needs to be remolded into a question/answer automaton, that will take in answers as multiple choice questionnaire, one question after another, and give a commentary about what is the consequence of each choice - eventually leading to the choice for the vehicle.

A suggestion : Can we have a private messaging facility between members. While most info should be posted on the forum as this benefits everyone - there are times when you need to talk to just another person, exchange phone numbers and so forth. Incidentally, t-bhp has this facility.

Sorry GH for hijacking your thread - but I didn't want to open a new one.

Pankaj/Binoy/Banwari - what do you think ?
