Hi,

HU- Pioneer 7150UB and 5190UB both are similar I could not find the difference in the spec but the look and the operating menu buttons are different. 5190 is front USB so if you connect the IPPOD through the CD-IU200V then the cables may messy your front interior. I think the 5190 display is Blue Organic EL whereas 7150 white Organic EL.

Check the price and look of both the module and select upon your satisfaction.

6050UB is for Asia or Philippines market so you will get it in Grey only whereas 7150/5190 is for Indian market. There is no big difference in the spec of these products.

It seems price of the speakers are high. Try to buy everything from single dealer and get discount and save.

Go for Front JBL 608C – Ok (Price should be approximately 4000 to 4500) (Hope with warranty)

Go for Rear DB691 – Ok (Price should be approximately 4500 to 5000). (Hope with warranty).

Check Polk Momo series speaker for the rear aswell.

In high volumes or (High bass music) you may hear jarring sounds from the Doors. After installation keep the volume high (Play Akon I want Love you song) and check the doors producing jarring sound if yes and you may need to suppress it then get local made Damping material and install it in the inner walls should cost around 700Rs per door with installation charge.

SUB will do better for the low frequency sound so you will hear Boom Boom!

I you have plans for the SUB upgrade in future then we have to reconsider the above speaker selection.

Dear Ashwin/Ami/Greenhorn,

I have the following queries: -

1) What's the difference between rear 3 way speakers Polk Db690 and Db 691? What about JBL GTO 947? is this better than Polk speakers.

2) Which HU is better to go for - DEH-P6050 UB/DEH-P7150 UB (Any difference)?

3) Is there any big difference between - DEH- P6050 UB and DEH - P5050 UB apart from 7 band & 3 band EEQ.

4) Is HPF and LPF is available in all the HUs, I have mentioned above ie. 7150, 6050 and 5050?

5) What is D/A converter- 24 bits and S/N ratio - 90 db? What is their role in creating sound output? Presence of these features in HUs makes any difference....

6) Finally, Can I expect almost the same effect with the set of speakers (JBL-608c (Front) & Polk Db 690/691 (Rear) joined with any of the above HUs), what we normally get with sub/amps.

Kindly clarify at the earliest

Dear Gurus (Ashwin/Ami/Greenhorn/others),

I am still waiting for the reply before taking final decision.

My Budget is 20k. The HU, I have chosen is 7150 costing me 10k

For speakers, there are several options:

Front: JBL 608C  or   Polk 6501

Rear: Db 690/691 or JBL GTO 938/947

Which of the above models (Speakers) would be ideal for my Getz within my budget of 20k?

Also let me know the correct prices of above models so that it'll be easier for me to negotiate with the dealers.

Should I prefer any particular brand for wires? What are the things, I should keep in mind for wiring.

Kindly suggest.

HU- Pioneer 7150UB is good option

Go for the Polk Audio

Front Polk 6501 - 4500 Rs

Rear Polk DB691 - 6500 Rs

If your speaker cost exceeds your budget then try JBL

Front JBL 608C - 5000 Rs

Rear JBL GTO 938/947 - 4000 Rs

You need not worry about the wirings use the in build wirings and ask your favorite trustful installer to put the good quality wiring wherever necessary.

Dear Ashwin,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have chosen 7150 as I am nowhere getting the 6050 (2008 model, single DIN). Everywhere 6050 double DIN is available, which I don't require anyway.

Can u pls clarify me What is D/A converter-24 BIT and S/N ratio- 90db? These are available in 6050 double Din. What is their role in sound output? Are these features available in 7150?

Kindly clarify.

Dear Ashwini/Ami/other Gurus,

Finally I have installed the audio system in my GETZ.

HU- Pioneer DEH- P5190 UB costs me Rs.11,300/ with bill, Pioneer India warranty and incl of VAT

Front- JBL GTO 608C costs me Rs.5500/- with bill, warranty and incl of VAT

Rear- Polk Audio Db-691 costs me Rs.5500/- with bill, warranty and incl of VAT

MDF 3" Plank costs me Rs.650/-. Total cost - Rs.22950/- (Dealer has not charged me anything for installation)

Output is awsome. I have never expected such a nice output. I feel, these speakers are well-tested and proven in market in terms of performance. I am not all feeling the absence of sub/amp. The output is equally good for all kinds of music. There are certain beats of particular songs, which can be easily heard of from these speakers and I have never heard the same beats from other music systems at my home. Even FM output is so good, one may easily get confused between FM and Original soundtrack CD output.

Thanks a lot to Ashwini, Ami and others. Gurus, pls share your knowledge, idea and experience about above combination.

Regards

Sidhartha

Sidhartha,

Congrats man. How is the sound quality for low frequency signals(Bass) at full volume. Did you try Hip-hop kind of music with this system?

I am also planning to have a nice ICE setup for my Swift. Iam planning to have Subwoofers without rear speakers. What do you think about it. I have a 4ch-Amp.
