@Abyshines

I own a new Estilo (Kseries). I have checked the mileage 4 times. It is between 16 - 18 kmpl. Driving- 50:50 in city and highway.

AC: Also 50:50.Smile

My car has digital Fuel indicator. The last level blinks when fuel level is low. I have checked mileage by noting the KM at which blinking starts, then i fill 10L, then note the KM when blinking reappears. I did this 4 times.

Santyom:

Hav you checked the mileage in city alone??
Pls do let me know!

Cheers,
Sai

I am not an expert but a very good observer.

Full marks to you for acknowledgement.

P K, Try refill after 500 kms to get Best overall Mileage. Mileage figures of my Spark LT is as under:

Best I got 15.78 kmpl in city with a.c.

Best I got 17.40 kmpl in city without a.c (winters).

Best I got 18.60 kmpl on highway with a.c.

There is a Chevrolet Spark community at Orkut (around 1300 members) and so many are getting over 20kmpl on highways.

Also, I am using only normal petrol. You can see the price in that photo its 47.70 per ltr.

Hi All,

Please let me know the tyre pressure for Spark. Its mentioned as 30psi in manual, but one of the guys in Spark forum reported that he got good mileage when tyre pressure is increased from 30 to 32 psi

2 to 3 psi above the manufacturer specified tyre pressure will increase mileage.  Go fo 33 psi.  Inside city (Bangalore): take care on roads with deep potholes ( I heard there are many in BLR!)

now onwards i will keep it 32 psi. I read some where that increasing the tyre pressre above the mentioned figures in user manual, will cause early tyre wear out. Is it true?

Under-inflation would cause premature wear out of tyres. Increase of 1 to 3 psi will not harm tyre.  If you scan thru threads in this forum, you would find guys increasing tyre pressure to 10 psi above the car manufacturer's recommendations to gain very high FE. When using higher tyre pressure - be careful that the tyre's side-wall does not get in contact with any sharp objects.  And, as I had posted ealier - Beware of Deep Potholes in the road (City roads during monsoon) and Speed-breakers.  Coasting at high speed over potholes and speed breakers would wreck your car's suspension.  Ride quality in uneven roads would be not so comfortable.

High tyre pressure will result in more bumpy ride and an overall toll on your Suspension not meant for a stiff ride.
