Thanks friends
Any specific advice in respect of buying Sedan or Hatch – specific to
- Handling of vehicle
- Real utility of boot for the price
- Is it only a style?
I say again, price not an issue but VFM important with 5-6K annualy.
As I find Punto being most suggested car, does it offer the VFM for an average family user of my kind? I test drove Punto and found it very satisfying, but did not see any problem in test ride of Vista too.
Vista seems to be more spacious – that being a significant requirement to upgrade the vehicle, though the built quality and perfection seemed a bit poor to all others.
I am certainly going for a new car, with no plans of resale may for next 10-12 years.

Munish. Pleas eparticipate in the thread.

With your budget , i think you have opend up the entire Mid segment Indian car market for you.

I suggest

1.Punto 2. Vista 3.i10 4.Ritz.

TD & short list your prefered car & discuss on the forum for experts/users to give their best response.

All thebest.

opps by the time I was writing my post , i just saw your response. I suggest Go for GP , but certainly Vista is VFM.

Hi

If u are keeping the car for 10 years then i suggest u also consider a diesel

Punto 1.3 MJD Active and 1.3 Dynamic also can be considered.

My Punto

Punto

Positives

Drop dead georgeous.Easily the most stylish hatch.Has no bad angles.

Fuel efficient

Best ride quality and handling.A class of its own.

5 star safety rated where as vista is 4 star.

Built like a tank.Solid build quality.

VFM

High speed stability

Large boot 280 Lts.Vista 230 LTS

5 people seater

Maintenance cost similar to marutis

Negatives

Key joining area poor quality.Rest areas is good

ASS improving but not equal to maruti

Punto spare are almost neck in neck with swift diesel.

Test drive both the cars with ur family and decide which suits u perfectly.

Both the cars have similial fuel efficiency, maintenance costs and same engine.

Why Punto

Looks,styling,stats symbol,quality,great design,handling and ride quality,features

Why not Vista

Tata known for there constant niggling issues, build quality, indica label, safety rating, body roll, poor braking at high speeds and taxi image is my perspective

A unknown fact to all is that Vista uses a Fiat gear box

Did u know that the FIAT internationally award winning MULTIJET diesel is used in cars like Fiat Punto,Fiat Linea,Ford Fiesta,Swift,Dzire,Ritz,Vista and many more abroad.

Tata also uses the Fiat 1.2 Lt FIRE engine in the Vista.

So i would suggest u go for something different.A change is always welcome
