Adam, I think, as is the custom, The attendees will get a list of phone numbers of all attendees - so coordination is a matter of dialing a number - just remember to pack your charger, and you are ok!

I was hoping Banwari & Pankaj would install GPS system in our cars and setup a camp in Mumbai where they'd track all the vehicles! And 4 armed security vans to escort us throughout.

I am sure all participants within 200kms from Mumbai will definitely get their cars.  Hello people drive as many cars as possible.

... My brother's 3 months old daughter is not well...  small hole in her heart ...Heart size increased...

... I am discussing it here because may be someone is having any info regarding this...

That's really very sad.  Hope the little one is cured soon - our best wishes are with her.

We can surely discuss about it in 'our own place' (General Discussions).  It would be much more meaningful OT than we have been discussing (Jokes, Shayri, Movies, Mobile, Camera etc.).

Try to attend the Meet only if possible - we can understand your family constraints.

Thanks Satish & Adam for confirming about your cars. I'm sure all locals would definitely love to bring their cars.  Regarding cars from outstation, as of now, there will be at least 3 cars - Abhyshines/Krishna & few others (Delhi), Anshu (Hyderabad) & myself (with Kiran - Ahmedabad & probably Ashish - Surat).

Regarding security, well... I thought the Mods would require that. Lolz Laughing

As indicated by Krishna, there won't be any issue about coordination amongst the participants.  All other things has been planned well by Banwari.  Besides, as discussed before, members arriving on 18/12 from outstation will be provided with lodging/boarding arrangements - if they desire to avail of.  We would prefer/try that all such members stay together at one place itself (and have additional fun - Meet before Meet Smile)

Meet before Meet sounds interesting and tempting besides serving a purpose of knowing each other much better, would be more meaningful. Just another opportunity to gel well.Isn't it?

True - it would be fun. The basic idea is, however, to provide accommodation etc. for convenience purpose.  It would also help moving together the next morning - no hassles of traveling & assembling.

@ Banwari, how will winter be in Mumbai/Alibaug during that time - what type of warm clothes do we need to carry?

I myself wanted to ask the same question As far as I have enquired Alibaug would be quite cold however, mumbai is not so cold...specially if you belong to colder places like Delhi. I have been to Mumbai in winter so I know about that...its still less colder than Hyderabad. But would definitely like to know about Alibaug so that we can make arrangements accordingly. Personally, I would have to buy some warm clothes if its cold as I am now not used to warm clothes in hyd for last 5 years

@Rajiv Parashar, I am so sorry for the little kid and wish and pray that she is fine and back to normal health as soon as possible. Please do let us know if we could be of any help. My mothers brother is a Doctor and has friends almost in all big cities/hospitals of India, if any help needed do let me know and I can ask him for some reference to good doctors. I am ready to help upto whatever extent possible.

@ Rajiv , sorry to hear about kid. Hope she will get well soon. As far as cold is concerned my experience in Mumbai - there is never a winter !! . But may climate change shows its effect this year !! Yes Alibag would be colder at night but not like cold of north region . Better to carry one decent jacket.

@ Pankaj, winter in Alibaug is not so cold, may be you can carry a thin jacket. For people from Delhi no need to have any extra warm clothes, you will enjoy the December weather here.

As far as I know, Mumbai is just another coastal city, with the same sticky humid almost constant temperature weather all-year round. If at all, the December factor will be more enjoyable, with low humidity and crisper fresher air.

Kihim beach, being a beach, and just 100 out of Mumbai, is expected to be the same weather.

Delhi guys need not worry about any warm clothes at all, if they bring them along, it will just be more weight to haul in their cars/trains.

Bangalore guys are used to some cold, so this will be easier. Hyd temp swings wider than Mumbai's so they should also be OK.

We already had a storm passing over near Mumbai, and that was the first in 43 years so probably we need not worry now, as lightening does not strike the same place twice. Chances of another storm are that low.

So, in all, we could not have a better place to converge than Mumbai for our national meet.

Convenient, eh?
