National Meet (CW Forums) at Mumbai on 19-20/Dec/09 (details at post 96 - pg10)

Zonal / Regional Meets, having a CarWale day & arranging for sponsors etc. are all very good ideas. 

As far as National Meet is concerned, I too am of the opinion that we should continue with the National Meet – as decided (tentatively) in the 1^st or 2^nd week of December – before the Christmas vacations.

Most of the members will have to travel.  It should not matter whether they are traveling to Mumbai or Delhi.  Both the cities are centrally located (in a way) & very well connected by all modes of transport.  Neither should members of Mumbai or Delhi mind traveling to the place of Meet.

In my opinion, Mumbai will logically be a better venue.  CarWale is based there, and so its team/Staff. We all can understand the advantages.

Mumbai or Delhi, a dinner (3-4 hours of session) alone would not be an attractive proposition for members traveling all the way – that too for a National Meet.  Therefore, as discussed/proposed in the Meet of 22/08 (Mumbai), we should have it spread over 1-2 days with some activity/recreation.  A whole day’s picnic (or whatever) to some near by place, and if feasible, stay overnight till breakfast next day. This we will need to work-out on, the most.

Regarding participation, though it would be an open invitation in the forums to all, we may try to ensure the numbers by making it mandatory for many (we may insist/request).

The fact that we actually thinking of a National meet,makes me feel that if we stick to a particular date,then rest of the things will fall in place...venue is certainly not important,the event indeed is...

Bans any good concept for the Big day ...I mean  the content for the day...[National meet]

We could have regional meets too, but meeting all the loonies members at a single place will be a great fun. Just the attendence and programme needs to be taken care. If either of these two remains weak, it's a problem.

I guess the thread name should change to "A possible National Meet in December"!

Well, yes ! We all want to meet ! Krish is right about the appropriate name change.

And about the meet, lets now discuss what ALL can be done. They'll be a hundres suggestions out of which only some would be just right. So i guess starting now would be the right time !

No but i guess lets start with "WHEN" first !

MY preference- WInter vacations, ie- between 26th to 31st. I mean any of these days.

Its just a suggestion. doesnt mean i wont be free anytime else.

End of december is always pleasent and needs something as hot as our national meet to spice things up...!!!

I have posted a link on Our Delhi meet thread , so that people can be here and express their views.

Believe me preference is important, since it'l give us an idea when most people would be most available.

Also keeping in mind Krish's points, Potential attendance can be judged by this too.

Christmas holidays people avoid because they need them for visiting their homes,its as precious to some as our diwali holidays...
