Chineese Tyres - One of my friend got them on his Swift in the month of january this year, the rubber was hard, ride was bumpy,and there was a lot of noise. when we checked throughly the tyres were made in 2005.

He immediately got them changed to Apollo tubeless.

Moral of the story is that you might be saving 2k-3k on your tyres but in the long run you are the one who will get impacted.

Please consider the after effects aswell.(Car suspension will go for a toss)

@Jay

I am just curious - how much is the cost for Re-treading a tyre?

Re-treading should be avoided especially in tubeless tyres. Moreover with the JK's selling tyres  below the 1.5K mark even for 14 inch'ers the gains out of re-treading would be minimal.

If you want to save money - JK tyres, if you want FE, Michcelin XM1+. Go to a local tyre shop, get to know prices of different tyres, and if there is an issue, post it here.

Why I am asking you to visit a local tyre shop is that you will be able tgo find out in one visit, what tyres are available, what their prices are and if there is a brand that costs even lesser than the JKs mentioned above. etc etc. Unless someone goes to the shop and posts findings here, no new info will get in the thread, so in providing such info, you will also be helping others.
