Well its not just the car that matters in the 10lac plus segment Its 'Brand'.

Imagine two high roller exces meeting for lunch, one guy has a a Honda Civic and the other a Maruti Suzuki Kizashi-well one can guess how discussions on all things car would go between them!

The KIzashi will find more success if it atleast loose the Maruti prefix on the upper segment cars.

In any case whether we have have some prestige issue or not, people who need to buy better cars will do their bit of research before buying any vehicle.

By the way CIVIC is the worst car from HONDA stable in my view.

Besides what we are discussing here is something that is yet to come in the market.

SUZUKI cannt be compared to HONDA's so called superior technology.

If thats what described success, branding and prestige, people would be buying SKODA with eyes closed.[Its much better than HONDA's]

But that doesnt happen,More than prestige if we see around its all about the cut above the rest.

If the vehicle is good enough it will pull through regardless of the brand name and even if its from MARUTI stable.

Thanks Dr.Abyshines ..good thoughts. Branding does not matter as long as Car is good.. Check Cruze success (initially people was skeptical on GM's products in D Segment but as cruze is good pick, everyone is looking upto it)

Any idea when Kizashi is getting launch in India?

Canadian Driver has done a first drive of the Kizashi. From their review, Suzuki Canada boss says "“Kizashi is designed to have the handling of an Alfa Romeo and the stability of a Volkswagen,” said Mr. Maruyama at the vehicle’s press introduction in Niagara.

Among features avaliable abroad some important ones are:

- 2.4L 4 cylinder petrol engine with 180bhp@6500rpm and 170 pounds foot torque at 4000rpm mated to a CVT.

- Dual zone automatic climate control.

- SmartPass keyless entry with push button start.

- CVT with paddle shifters.

- Rockford Fosgate premium audio system.

- Bluetooth Handsfree connectivity.

- Multiple airbags with side curtain airbags.

- 18" Alloy wheels.

- ESP.

The test drive report says:

- The Kizashi does excel in handling and driving dymanics.

- On the road, the Kazishi’s engine is limited by the transmission; it sounds somewhat rough at low speeds and under acceleration, and the transmission moans when accelerating.

- On the highway, the Kazishi comes into its own, feeling substantial and stable at speed.

Launching of Kizashi will be end of 2010 in India. In my view point, It would be late if we look at expected new releases by VW and Honda..

Better late for me.

I can manage funds in that case.LOLz.

Keeping aside the humour part well i think Cruze chose the right time.

It takes time to pick up sales anyway,so actual success or failure might be around in 2 years time which unfortunatley is a quite a lot of time.

By then we might end up seeing couple of sizzling launches already on the lines of Cruze.

For all the efforts put in the making of KIZASHI i think time is running short for them with all the RnD put in it.

No matter where they launch [suzuki] their cars,INDIA has been playing the decisive role in the strenghtened SUZUKI brand image.

Who knew that this auto maker will create ripples in the more demanding smaller segment cars, where the epicentre has always been INDIA.Innocent

It was only due to the success of SUZUKI that other major giants realised the potential of this part of the world "the indian Automative world''.

Where the trends have been ever changing,From cheap durable cars to now more for the quality and sensible cars.

Am i right on this!
