Yes it was at the last Auto Expo where it was the centre of attraction in the Maruti pavilion.  It was called Kizashi - no surprises there.  The detailing and the styling cues were really phenomenal - it was unlike anything Suzuki had made in its lifetime.

And, as we can see from the production version, it is still unlike anything Suzuki will offer to its customers.  I've seen concepts before, but this one is so unlike its subsequent production version and makes you wonder why they exhibited it.

Suzuki will be Suzuki, I guess..

Well i have been scratching my head trying to think where the Kizashi was ?

Do you have any pics that you took by any chance ?

Oh and you are dead right about Suzuki that way. Remember the beautiful car, with a looks of a "Hollywood Hero's Pride", Everybody at the Expo just stuck to it.

it was then called "A-Star".Haha ! And see what it came out to be

Of course, who can forget the A Star?  Look what they showed then and look what you got now - maybe Suzuki really believes in my signature!

Thanks Steer for the pics.

The inference is that  (on a lighter note)

1) Suzuki does have an amazing desing department

2)Marketing/Engineering division is probably made up of senior citizens

Appalling design taste - Is the gaping hole grill going to be a signature feature of Suzuki cars henceforth? (Somebody tell them a pig with lipstick on is still a pig - it won't turn into a Rolls!)

A-Star concept design looks like a mash of design elements from previous generations of cars - looked at the concentric aircon vents a-la Santro?

Rear view confirms Kizashi's design pedigree - it's a younger sibling of Swift, design inheritance-wise!

Also noted that the aero of Kizashi is not very exciting - except for the upper body, the vehicle shape is a brick!  Being a hatch does not help reduce the aero drag either. Not much of hope from this one, apart from the bling factor...

Krishna thats a non production version... No concept car actually fits in as far as aerodynamics are concerned... That was Kizashi-1 concept... Kizashi -2 was even more absurd... Kizashi-3 has come with thre production variants... No wonder suzuki is way behind, still i would like to convince you here,no matter what technology rolls royce has in offer, its still very much out of the reach for the comman man... [Just my thought, instant reaction...Die hard Suzuki fan i guess]
