I am selling my car to Maruti True Value at Sagar Automobiles Bangalore.

They are taking the delivery of the car[including original documents] by giving a cheque.

Is it OK to let them take the car even before the money gets transferred to my account.

In my case also one of the True Value dealership in Bangalore offered the same condition.  But, I preferred to sell it directly by advertising online.  I got better price and I insisted on demand draft.  In case of True Value, they did not agree for demand draft, only cheque, they said.

I suggest listing it on CarWale.com.

People have washed their hands off their cars in 24 hrs. flat going this way.

A better price and a DD for the sale amount is certainly a better deal than the true value is offering.

They have agreed for a DD now. That seems to be OK. And I am getting an equivalent price as listed for an individual value[good condition] in Carwale CarValue evaluation of used car.

Hey,

I am selling my Sep-2005 zen LX online at carwale.com. Do you know, we are supposed to charge VAt @ 12.5% while selling ur vehicle?

Do all follow this practice?

Pls expand if any other way around. No one is interested in paying VAt for a second hand car.

Regards,

Vinay Pillai

I listed my car on Carwale.com

I was promptly contacted by Maruti True Value, who sent a valuer across and then quoted a ridiculously low price.  I think they should call themselves Maruti Low Value.

Suggest you avoid them and certainly insist on a demand draft if you can't avoid them.

Yeah, I have had the same experience. I went there to exchange my 2006 Xeta for Dezire. They quoted me 75,000 including 10,000 exchange bonus. I finally sold it for Rs. 1,51,000! I have usually seen them quoting 25% lower prices. They indeed are Maruti Low value! And when you to buy, they generally quote 25% high.

Just see my expereicne....When at first i was thinking of selling of my 2007 Swift Zxi, I was approached by Maruti True value ,they offered 3.10 lacs for the car( this price if i buy a Maruti i.e stay loyal to them). I was not happy with thier price. On the other Hand, Hyundai in the same city offered 3.25 lacs. I finally sold it to a private party for 3.35 lacs.
