Dear Sir I am planning to purchase a new car in Bangalore in 4 to 4.30 lakh. Daily I will travelling about 25 km. I am planning to purchase Indica V2 diesel or Indica V2 Turbo diesel model. Still can I get the running cost advantage, keeping in mind the high maintenance cost involved in diesel vehicle. Which will be better choice for me, Indica V2 Diesel or Indica V2 turbo diesel? Or shall I go for petrol vehicle? Please give sugestion. Thanks and regards, Shashikant

Dear Shashikant, Indica Turbo is adviseable to the folks who are too concerned about performance. Turbo Indica is definitely a better performer. But this performance comes with somewhat extra noise and some extra cost. Alto you will have to sacrifice some fuel economy too for this extra power. So if you are not the one seeking extra power, Indica V2 Non-Turbo is better option. Since your running is not much, you should consider buying a petrol vehicle instead. If you have fallen in love with Indica then you have Xeta as very good option otherwise we recommend you go for Santrol Xing. A very good, comfortable small car.

Thank You Mr. Sharma Yesterday I visited Tata Motors show-room, and they told that Incica V2 Non-Turbo model is being stopped by this month end. So they have recommended to Indica V2 Turbo model. I am not looking for extra power, the only thing is that I want fuel economy, so in that case how about Indica V2 Turbo model. Please clarify. Thanks and regards, Shashikant

Dear Shashikant, We have no news about the discontinuation of non-turbo Indica, however we were anticipating that they will introduce tubo-charger in all Indica versions. Non-turbo Indica definitely is more fuel economic than its turbo counterpart. The mileage of Turbo is not bad either considering that extra power. Non-turbo will give you 13-14 in city while Turbo will 11-12 kmpl. There is no harm in buying Turbo Indica if you are okay with its mileage. If you are making your mind for Non-Turbo then you can definitely go for it. There is no reason you shouldn't buy it. Its very popular car and its resale won't be affected even if its phased out.

Dear Shashikant, Tata has launched DLS variant of its Turbo Indica. This version has some lesser power (62ps) but better mileage. Since you were in a dilemma of choosing one between turbo and non-turbo, Indica Turbo DLS seems to be a bargain.
