@bala - what you say then should i go for vista? do you think tata are better in this case.. ?

@bhardwaj - as you are leaving for 20 days.. tell me which you would go for.. ritz diesel... vista diesel.. or i 10 petrol... as might be when you come back i have new car... so need last golden words.. from you

please if anyone else want to contribute.. then go ahead.. it might be helpful to me... to avoid my confusion...

@Nishant

a) At 700km monthly drive diesel car is ruled out.

b) So from Ritz diesel,Vista diesel and i10 only option is !! i10!!

c) Other successful cars in petrol which you can consider is Estilo,A Star, Spark,Ritz

thanks, Abyshines, bala, vs and bhardwaj for look into this..

you guys almost gave the answers but the only question still in my mind is, if i have short running... per month i.e. 700 km. I can't go with diesel car.. I know in the past people where having some more Maintenance problem with diesel engine cars.. but i think now a days it got changed.. now it is not much concern.. isn't it?

one of my friend.. having swift diesel.. he is using it in just weekend.. only 200 km per month.. still he has no Maintenance.. his experiance with his car is of 2 years... his car's avg is 22 km ... one other friend of mine is using tata indica dicor.. he is using it since last 1.5 years.. it also have same story.. he is using thrice a week and car is still giving good mileage and less Maintenance

What you think now a days, it does really matters.. in Maintenance cost.. wheather it is a diesel or patrol.. car, if drive is between.. 500 to 700 km per month.

thanks in adv.

See clearly here 22km to aq litre is attractive,if the engine sound [not much] bothers you,i feel you go for Ritz petro; or else go for the Diesel for sheer joy and driving pleasure[its rocket science=Turbo]

If you can manage to pay 80-90 k extra for the Diesel i guess then go for it...

Suzuki Diesel cars dont give troubles...

@ nishant,

for these reasons only i told u to go for vista quadrajet, as todays's diesels are quite refined & easy to maintain.

u can checkout the reason for going for vista on page no. 2.

nishant, the economics suggest that the additional money that is required to buy a diesel car over a petrol will be retreived only after 60,000km or 4 to 5 years in your case,so why not purchase a petrol car and enjoy the silence and smooth pick up of a petrol engine?

@bala - I know this is the common way of thinking.. that price diff. is that much.. between patrol and diesel engine.. that you can put that money in bank and use that diff. amount for patrol fule for next 5 years.. and enjoy the smoothness of the patrol...  and even if that sound expensive then you can also go for cng/lpg..

but what i think is .. if I want to gor for petrol then i would go for either Ritz or I10.. below are the onroad price in guj.

Ritz zxi - 5.5

I 10 megna - 4.32

and if I go for diesel then I would go for ritz or vista.. and their price onroad are as below.

Ritz vdi - 5.5 (compare to ritz patrol i would get 4 to 8 km more mileage and plus diff. between fule too i.e. around 15 rs. per litter ... now ritz diesel sounds  much more gr8 option..)

vista qdt - 5.1(compare to I10 patrol i would get 5 to 7 km more milage and plus lots of extra features such as cd player(which i10 dealer asking 18k more to fit it) virtical driver seat adjustment... (cant get in i10) plus small small other featuers.. for which if i asked my i10 dealer to provide then it would cost me around 4.75 around.. and last but not least if i compare space inside.. then surly vista sound worth...)

now what you think on this..?

@ aby and roadster - you both confuse me again.. by giving one one vote to vista and ritz diesel..

any further thoughts..?

thanks in adv.

Hi Nishant,

You don’t go for Tata products, Who makes taxi & loaded purpose vehicle only & no suitable for prestige or status wise vehicles, You should go for Swift, Punto, Aveo uva & Jazz than others, if in your budget.

Wish you a very happy DEEPAWALI.

k.k

Ritz VDI = 5.5L

Ritz VXI = 4.8L (May be just check)

So at low travel of 700 km per month Ritz VXI is recommended instead of VDI.

For VDI you pay minimum of 70,000 rupees more compared to VXI hence to recover these 70,000 rupees you may take 4 to 5 years.

You will pay less for diesel filling but understand for buying diesel car you are PAYING 70,000 MORE RUPEES .

We wanted to express the difference in price of petrol and diesel car in same variant.

Zxi variant is with more features and if we compare it with Vdi its not one to one comprison.

If you are ready for Ritz Vdi and Vista, my vote is for Ritz Vdi.
