Hi guys,

I wanna buy a new car. As this would be my first car i am bit coufused and need some guidance. I basically need a small or midsize car, which has good milage and low maintanance. I tried to take reveiws from frnds but they dont have much idea about which is the best car which fits my requirement. I have confusion between.. these four cars I10 megna 1.2, new Estilo, indica vista 1.3 quadrajet/sefire 1.2 aura, Indigo cs dicor lS. can any one say which is the best among these cars. some frnds also advised me for wegonr duo, santro cng and swift vdi.. so... list is long .. but m getting confuse more and more...

Thanks in adv.

Nishant.

If mileage, maintenance is your main aspect of selection then you can aslo add SPARK in your list. Now  during festival season the offer is very attractive:

Heavy discounts, cashless maintenance upto 45000 km (1200 rupees paid by dealer),mileage is proven,  most importany a very stable car at high spped.

SPARK at present is best value for money small car.

Now if you are very strict in car which you have mentioned then

1) Indica/Indigo car performance can't be compared with Maruti and Hyundai....

2) Mileage Estilo better than i10....

3) Highway experience i10 is better than Estilo....

4) Maintenance Estilo and i10 is same.

TD SPARK,i10 and Estilo and take your decision.

@ nishant,

u can go for i10, ritz, vista & punto if u can stretch a bit.

if u r not very much keen on performance & power than punto would serve u the best.

it is new, good looking, big & has a descent boot space, is strong & sturdy & has the best driving dynamics.

go & have a td for punto 1.2 & see is it ok for u or not.

if not & u would like to further stretch a bit than can go for punto 1.4 which would give u better performance compared to 1.2. have td for both.

if not punto than go for ritz or i10 which everu u like the most.

Hi Nishant,

living in NCR, I hv hd smwhat same requirements, small car, good mileage and low maintenance.
This is what I have found so far:

If you can stretch ur budget upto 5.2L then swift or ritz diesel (a good review exists on zigwheels) would be a good buy. They are both powerful and have very good mileage that too on disel so your running cost will be low.

Vista quadrajet packs the same engine as the above two and is much spacious than above two. Its even priced atleast 50k below the above two. swift disel (~18Km per ltr in city) beats it in fuel efficiency (Vista ~15-16Km per ltr in city) and durability.
What I have heard from owners and found in reviews that though vista is much more refined than previous Tata cars but it still has issues which cant be ignored.

Indigo CS Dicor could be a good option as it gives you the efficiency and durability of indigo with a much more refined Dicor engine. The short boot makes it the cheapest sedan class car on road.

And after all these you have the tried and tested Wagon R. You might not like the shape or could be fed of seeing too many of them on road but still I guess its the best combo of efficiency, performance, durability and price. It would give you abt 15Km per Ltr in city on AC as compared to 12 for santro and i10 and would cost atleast 50K lesser.

Well thats what I hv found on all the forums online. Let me know if you dig anything new..

@ nishant,

as u r looking for a long term car & are ready to stretch ur budget than is a sedan ok for u.

if yes than go for accent. it is big, has good boot which will be very helpful while going out stations, has good spcae & performs good too. u get it around 5 lacs & u get a fully loaded car.

if it is ok for u to stretch than just give it a chance else i10 kappa or vista quadraget would be fine.
