Hey Guys,

After 5 yrs and 84000 kms use, I have decided not to sell my Corsa at all and convert it into LPG. I was lookin for a new swift VDi or Punto. But have decided to wait.

Ppl pls share ur experiences on LPG fitting this car. The car is already a drag in petrol, will LPG hurt it further.I hate the pick-up. Dad loves this one.

I have no experience on LPG, should u start in petrol and shift to LPG everytime u start?

I had a friend's LPG gypsy for a month way back in 2001. The vehicle would not move properly on LPG. I never filled LPG but tried to use it in LPG twice.Hated the experience and then continuously used it in petrol.
I hope that things have changed now. Kindly enlighten me gurus..

Regards,

Vinay Pillai

Vinay, as if you don't know it in your heart, you are asking a confirmation from the Gurus! Converting something like that Corsa is just about equivalent of flogging a dead horse...

It ain't upto no good man! *shakes head slowly*

If your father loves it, at least it is off your hands! Count your blessings, and don't pour any more money in the car beyond needed maintenance. LPG kit cost recovery is very long for the runs you will have with such dilapidated car, and by the time you start real saving, the car would give up its ghost.Effectively it is a trap not worth walking into. Pickup / power reduction by 20% as is the norm for converted cars would mostly make the car slower than a bullock cart, which would discourage you from running up those miles for kit cost recovery, so it is already a losing preposition.

Don't go that way please!
