ASP,the concept of safety is entirely different abroad where you have open good roads and vehicles speed is very high (Autobahn has no speed limit and normal cars move at 150 kmpl). So it does not mattter if Alto is not checked for safety abroad as their parameters are different. Also Nano scores well abroad only with Ero model which is upgraded to perform better in high speed tests. If you drive sensibly Alto is a good safe car,if you do not drive sensibly and meet accident ,you will get injured no matter which car you are driving.

I understand Euro Encap crash tests are done at 52KMPH,and tests are comprhensive enough to take care of high and low speed crashes.

Not that all over Eurpe high speed roads exists, traditional European colonies still has congested roads.

For nano - The Euro version is based on same India basic body structure.

Just an update.

Completed 2nd Service last month. After 2nd service, i was feeling a little vibrations when we move to 3rd & 4th gear and press the accelerator. It is the same vibration (but bit feeble) we get when the gear is higher and the speed is lower. I checked with the engineer immediately and he told that they have done some changes to get better mileage. But i was not fully convinced and took the delivery. The engineer told to drive 500kms and check after that. I didnt talk about this issue when customer care called for the feedback.

For the past month, i havent used the car so regularly as before due to various reasons. But this thing was always back of mind. One day the customer care called (2nd followup call) and asked how is the vehicle after 2nd service. Then i told about this vibration and they assured to send an engineer to check. As promised, the engineer was at my office step on time. He took the car for a test drive for say 8-10kms & replied that since Alto uses 3cylinder, there will always be bit of vibration to get the pickup and it will be very evident when the vehicle crosses 5000kms. Still i was not satisfied with his answer as i could clearly see the difference only after the 2nd service.  During the check he told that he to do some adjustments for the clutch (as my vehicle was not moving when engaged in first gear and the clutch is fully released without acceleration. Normally vehicles move when cluctch is released and no acceleration. I did notice that only when he pointed out Undecided). So he did fix that issue on the spot. I took a drive after that.

Ghosh!!! the vibration, which was only felt by me has gone now. And i am happy that my car is back to where it was before 2nd service. I really thanked the guy, though he fixed some other issue, my issue also got resolved.

Not sure what the link between 2 issues. Any one knows?

Also today i was lucky to escape an accident. I was about to over-take a truck. I honked and he showed hand signals to proceed. I was at the speed of 50-60 in top gear. I was about to complete the over-take of the truck, then suddenly the car (indica cab) which was exactly in front of the truck, moved very fast to the right lane where i am overtaking. Oops. My heart was on the mouth. I applied a sudden brake with out clutch. The vehicle had come to full stop, but noticed that engine didnt stall. So shiftly changed to lower gear and moved away. I was really impressed with the brakes of Alto. If i had been in same situation on my bike, sure i would have hit the car. Luckily no one hit me from back. I thanked God and proceeded to office Smile.

Super!!! I guess you spotted me only Yah it's 2111. I wonder how you managed to notice me at Bomanahalli @7pm. I suppose it's the worst possible traffic junction in Bangalore .

I was just behind you on that worst possible traffic junction Innocent. Couple of things from your review helped to spot you

1. You too work on the Bomanahalli area. So obvious to use that service road
2. Blue Blaze - Zxi ABS
3. I remembered that you had changed to govt approved Registration plate.

So made a guess & it turned to be correct Cool
