Thanks for updating.

Mileage derived is in line with what Altos generally give.  How about the services done - and any problem until now?

I am planning for my 2nd Service this weekend.

Problems identified:

1. When the wiper is on, i hear some sound (tic-tac kind of). I heard it 2 days back when driving in rain (checked by closing all windows & muting the music system). But after say 2-3 hrs i couldnt hear the same problem again. But will ask the service people to check it once.

2. While Braking, i hear a creach sound (not always). But some people say it is due to water getting into brakes. Why does this happen?

Apart from this, i am delighted with the vehicle. It has a good pull in 2nd gear. I am very much enjoying each day-in-day-out.

These are very minor things & will be rectified during the service.  Do not forget to bring these to the notice of the service station.

True but there's nothing wrong in taking it on highway - provided it is not driven beyond speed 80/85 (max).

Alto performs very well for its size & power, and has quite decent handling/braking.

Hi ASP, Alto is extremely safe car for the highway as it  has very good road holding capabilty and does not skid like the M800 and does not get unruffled  on bad roads like the Santro and even I 10 do.Alto car has very strong body which was meant for a more powerful 1100 cc engine and as such it has no problems handling high speeds at all.One caution though,Indian roads and road manners of user do not allow safe driving more than 100 on exprees ways and more than 80 on smaller roads so be careful not to overspeed and this applies to all cars not only Alto.

No offence ment, but i dont agree that small cars are not safe for highways.Todays small cars are quick, zippy and give excellent acceleration. The overall balance and braking is great.

Vehicle is safe or not cannot be judged by individual's opinions but by number of scientific certifications that very vehicle design has gone through.I don't think Suzuki has tested this vehicle design for Euro Encap ratings. Our government has not made madatory to declare the safety rating of the vehicle to customers before purchase of vehicle.

You can see

http://www.euroncap.com/results/suzuki/alto/362.aspx

Alto started figuring on Euroencap only after arrival of A-star, earlier models i never remember seeing there.Even A-star, their latest design, has mear 3 stars.

Incedentally, TATA Nano (Europe Design) has 4 stars
