H all

I am planning to buy my first car. My requirements are low maintenance and descent mileage(CNG). I will be using my car for official purpose and my requirement will be 60 KM per day, my budget is 3-4 L. I had a discussion with my friend and they suggested me santro GL CNG because of its engine performance and CNG advantage. So i decided to purchase santro CNG but last weak i went to maruti showroom and check out New zen estilo with new looks and k-series engine, I am truely impressed with the new zen estilo but the only drawback I observed that estilo dont have CNG and Its a new car so i have no idea about engine performance. Moreover CNG is my first priority shall I purchase the estilo and get the CNG kit assembled or shall i purchase santro CNG. Also please suggest any other car that comes with CNG.

Hi,

With your kind of usage and your budget, Better if you go with the CNG option as running cost is very low with CNG and you will save good money in even 3 years.

CNG is dry fuel and damages the engine faster compared to petrol.

Now is you are specific about mileage then in petrol options are ALTO,ESTILO,A STAR,SPARK.

Our friends will give more inputs on mileage in petrol car.

Hi

60 Km per day requires a diesel not a cng.

So i suggest u go for the Vista TDi or QJD

Vista Tdi falls in ur budget if u can stech ur budget go for Vista QJD

Hi all,

Thanks for your kind replies. Please correct me if I am wrong, I believe vista does offer good mileage but engine is not much effective comparing with santro if I look at vista and santro together three years down the line then I believe santro will be in better condition then vista. What I mean by effective is the smooth ride while 5 members sitting inside the car with A/C on.  Do we have other options in diesel??

About ALTO, A STAR and SPARK. I have alraedy drove alto and spark but I am not impressed by the interiors, looks and space. I dont have much idea about spark.

Finally I want to know more about New zen estilo K-series engine with respect to santro CNG.

Thanks.

Hi

Visa is a geniune 5 seater and the ride quality is better than Santro.

Santro suffers from a bumpy ride.

Strech ur budget and go for Vista Quadrajet which is a very reliable engine.

With running over 1800 kms per month the cheapest option is a CNG car not the diesel. Little more maintenance require but huge savings. If you compare the running cost diesel is no way near CNG. Performance wise Diesel is better but CNG is more economical. Per km cost of CNG is way too low as compare to even Diesel.

Estilo is not a good option for you. 3 persons in the back will be uncomfortable. Pulling with 5 persons and  on AC  will be poor. Also stability is an issue if you are going to drive fast. Estilo is a city car.

@ neeraj,

as suggested by bharadwaj, i would also suggest u to go for a diesel car & that is vista quadraget.

quadraget engine is a award winning engine & highly acclaimed all over the world.

quadraget will stay as it is after 5 years also.

so stretch ur budget a bit & go for the vista quadrajet.

vista is also goon on mileage & will save u a lot on fuel bills.

the space & comfort wat vista will provide u that no other small cars will give u.
