I think many members are here who have not posted in any threads or posted only once or twice. But some of them cannot be termed inactive. They must be browsing the threads daily. So they are active in Read Only Mode.

There may be many reasons for them for not posting here. May be they are lazy, or they got all the info they need from other threads, or they have no specific doubts regarding vehicles.

Any how, I am just making a try to make them involved in the forum and known to others.

Those readers please introduce yourself, post your views about forum, and tell us whether you were helped with this.

( I hope this thread will not close with this single post, without any further posts from our invisible friends).

Feroz - I agree with you fully.

To make this site more n more useful active participation of each and everyone is highly solicited.    In that way myself too have lot of affection on Carwale forum's MODS & itz members!

Suggestion right from buying car for myself & maintenance of the same in all aspects till now, all knowledge I have gained from here & would love do so in future also.

In that way, I owe a lot to CarWale.

Jay

Hi Feroz,

Just to assure you ... you are absolutely right ... there are many silent readers like me, who keep visiting the forums and benefit from the same. Keep up the good work. We all appreciate it.

I myself am quite ignorant about most of the aspects regarding vehicles. Bought a Santro Xing GLS very recently (not even a month old). But going through various threads has definitely enriched me (and am sure many others) extensively.

It is not laziness on my front ... just that I currently lack enough knowledge to share with all ... but expect to contribute regularly say few months down the line and keep sharing whatever useful information I come across.

Must also add that the moderators are also handling various functions in a very respectable way and communicate with a lot of warmth. Thank you for the same.

Only one negative remark, fully from my personal point of view: In the jokes thread, I found many of them indecent. Probably the idea of decency level varies from person to person. But nothing against anyone; have personally stopped reading that thread.

Best regards,

Jay

@ Jay, indecent jokes are deleted/edited instantly (sometimes go unnoticed). Some not-so-good jokes (though not indecent) are also deleted but not instantly; as it would not give a very good feeling to the member/s concerned (sense of humour varies from person to person).  But such deletions / cleaning-up are done from time to time.  I must admit it is high time it was done last.  The same will come through soon – I assure.  Thanks for the pointer Smile

It’s a very nice gesture from Feroz to have started this thread.

Such members who participate occasionally are much more in number than the regular ones.  Besides, if we see the number of total views, it indicates that there are so many people (unregistered) who visit/read our forums (& benefit).

The help is always appreciated & remembered – though all may not be able to express it.  It hardly matters, as the satisfaction derived in extending a help is in itself a wonderful feeling.

Many amongst us are members who had initially joined the Forums as askers, and eventually became a part of the forums – repaying for the good deed received earlier.  In the process they have grown & helped the Forums grow.  It’s a wonderful gesture from them, I must say.

We all are integral part of the Forums, irrespective of knowledge we have & the post-counts to our credit.  I too request/urge inactive / not-so-active members & silent readers to come forward in this thread, and participate in the forums to the extent possible.

Edit: Thread renamed slightly & moved to Announcement Section.

Hello Moderators , Can we have numbers of persons visited our CARWALE forum who are not registered ?. Monthwise breakup of such numbers will help the forum to judge its popularity as well as its contribution to auto world .

Feroz, Its really a nice gesture of yours to start this thread. I am also one of those who are mostly in read-only mode and write very less. Its now more than year I am in this forum but still have managed to write less. Again, would like to say that I am not lazy but most of the times the queries are already answered or I lack that knowledge to answer. Its always better to keep mouth shut than give wrong information. However, its my personal opinion this is what actually I do.

However, I admit again that I am mostly a silent reader but am trying to improve and be more active in writing. I am active in reading though

What can i say.

Feroz this is just 'insightful' or in other words, 'knowing the pulse of the forum'!

CarWale has been a journey well worth all the effort!

All members who keep reading-start posting and all guests who browse through-get on board!

Have a look at this thread - it gives a rough idea about the traffic, and the links provided therein at post #13 by Arun indicates the popularity.
