Hi,

I am planning to buy new car and confused in few.

Presently we have 2 cars > Maruti Omni & Dzire VXi (14 months old)

Dzire driven by Driver and used by my farther, but when ever i required in evening, i am using, last 14 month & meter reading is 24K KM.

Maruti Omni  is quite old (99 model) and working fine and monthly i used around 1500 KM in city.

Petrol expenses is too much and i want to buy new diesel car want to buy within 15-20 days.

Confuse in Vista Terra Quadrajet > Fiat Palio Stile 1.3 SD > Tata Indigo CS LS TDI > Swift LDi > Indica V2 DLS  > Vista Aqua 1.3 Quadrajet

As i am having Dzire, less interest in Swift, but still in top on the list.

I want basic car to save money in fuel but looks does matter.  budget is not a issue but i don't want to invest more.

don't want to sell Omni because i will not get anything better i will keep at my office parking area (no space at my home) Office staff will use to deliver some goods in city.

When i will have new car, we will use more > Dzire we will keep for shorter ride.

Please suggest me the suitable car as per my requirement.

@ rakesh,

between the options listed by you, indica vista aqua quadraget seems to be the best buy as it has a better engine & has good space & comfort inside.

& if u are open to other options than would suggest u to go in for the fiat punto multiget, though it may be expensive than the cars mentioned here but it is worth paying that extra money.

& if u would like to stick to ur given choices only than the vista aqua quadraget would seem to be the best buy.

@ Roadster, Thanks.

Compare to Tata > Fiat is good brand. and having the same engine in all.

Only the brand and build is difference.  I know India Fiat is now Tata Co. but again Fiat is international brand.

Punto is again having same engine but price is more, is it VFM deal.

I want to use at least 4-5 year, mean while if FM permit, i will change.

Please comment.

@ rakesh,

the indian fiat is not now tata, fiat is still that fiat only it has just made a joint venture with tata.

yes fiat is any day a better brand than tata but in the case of palio, it is showing its age now & looks quiet outdated especially in front of these modern days fancy looking hatch backs.

punto is a great car, yes it has the same engine but that does not mean that it should be cheap as indica or so.

yes it uses the same engine but there are many other aspects also in a car to make it expensive.

punto is a bigger car & has very solid & strong build quality. it has better quality interiors & has much more features than the indica if u go with the emotion pack model. it has better suspensions, brakes & has one of the best ride qualitiees in its class.

if u agree on buying a punto than do look out at i20 diesel too which is again a very good car.

of budget is not an issue than would suggest u to go for i20 or punto as ull get bigger & better cars.

thanks buddy,

i20 is expensive and i don't want to invest.  better is ford fiesta than i20.

I have to check the better service possibility in Jaipur (my city) for punto.

I want good breaks system, as i am missing in Dzire and i think same in Swift too. don't want fancy feature as it increase my budget.

And slowly it move towards Sedan again.

so stick with Swift Ldi price range or little bit higher if the breaks are improved.

@ Roadster,

Thanks for your valued suggestion,  i think vista aqua is better than swift.  I have to discuss in my family,  i think only looks will change the mind towards swift.

Any 2nd option than Vista >> Punto looks good if service as par with maruti. i am selecting Active.

some feature details are missing in cw compare  > about breaks.

please comment.

if u have a family of 5 & want a comfortable & spacious car than can seat 5 persons easily with 3 at the rear seating comfortable than the swift is not for u, as swift is not spacious & is cramped at the rear.

either than the swift it is better to fo for the ritz diesel it is better on space & comfort than the swift.

ritz is the other option against the vista.

in the city like jaipur there would not be any problem finding a tata/fiat service centre as jaipur is a developed city & there would be many tata/fiat dealers & service centres.

& in the compare list just the figures of distance are missing & why are that missing that the technical team can help u, but that figures are not of more important. else other details about the brakes are given.

Hi

If braking is ur main concern then Vista braking is similar to Maruti

I suggest u go for the Punto Dynamic or Active. If not stick to Vista QJD

The Fiat diesel is the international award winning engine which is used in punto, linea, swift, ritz, swift dezire and vista in India and many others abroad. The running costs and maintenance cost are also cheap.

As a word of trust Fiat give a four years extended warranty for 4 years or 1,50,000Km which ever is earlier by paying a meager amount of 5000Rs.

Comparision

I suggest u check the tata fiat workshops to avoid problems

Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Active in Jaipur on road price Rs 5,48,743

Maruti Suzuki Swift LDi (Diesel) in Jaipur on road price Rs 5,26,214
