hi friends

I bought tata safari 2.2 dicor last month, from the day one i noticed a '' katak'' sound when ever i release the clucth. Its observed even when its idle and and standing condition.

When i checked with the Tata service center, they claimed it be normal and is there in all safari. Is this true and is it normal. Being a new vehicle its quite uncomfortable to heare such sound.

pls comment your experience and guidence.

There have been quite a number of cases of Safari's with early clutch failure-test drive a new car and do a comparison.

Normally there should be no sound.

Do you also feel a jerk or is it just a sound?  I've had the sound, my clutch lasted 75k kms of abuse (not use but ABUSE) till someone else tried stunts with the vehicle and the clutch gave up.

The clutch is heavy, no two ways about that.

Try checking if the clutch cushion pad is placed properly
