Hi,

I am planning to exchange my Maruti 800 Std. My budget is Rs. apprx 4 Lac.

I shortlisted New Zen Estilo Vxi (K series engine) and Satro Xing GLS

Santro is offering me Exchange bonus of Rs. 10,000/-. Also they are offering me good price on Maruti 800. Maruti is not offering any exchange bonus. They are also giving me less for my Maruti 800.

I find Zen Vxi has a many extra features in camparision of santro. My monthly running is apprx. 2000 KM. My first preference is fuel saving.

Please suggest me which car i have to buy.

Warm Welcome.

If your run is 2k per month, then I would suggest you to stretch by all means and get a diesel car. That will be quite quite good for you in the long run.

Hi Ami,

Thanks for your reply. I heard many times that diesal car need very heavy maintinace. Is it true?

My max budget is 4L. I want a car which doesn't want heavy maintinace. Also suggest me any good diesal car.

The current diesel vehicles are quite sturdy and refined. The maintenance cost is 10-15% over the petrol counter parts.

In your budget you can get Indica non turbo. I dont quite feel like suggesting it.

Stretching by 50k will get you Vista TDi and stretching by a lil more will get you Vista quadrajet base version. With your run the extra amount is justified.

Hi Lalit,

Consider a diesel car as suggested by Ami. With your kind of usage, you will spend 8-9k per month on petrol only + Emi (if any).

We are using some diesel cars and maintenance is not high these days. Difference of 10%-15% only to the max. but you will save money + Driving diesel these days is fun. Too good engines specially the one from Fiat which is available in so many cars. Also, whenever you will sell, you will get good value too from diesel car.

Stretch your budget, if possible and consider a diesel car. Swift LDi or Vista Quadrajet Aqua. Its easy to spend little more at the time of buying car. You will save 700/800 every time you will visit the Petrol Pump and also mileage of diesel cars...definitely better than Petrol.

People dont change when you tell them that there is a Better option... They change when they realise that there is No Other Option..

Diesel car would be best as mentioned above. Following would be my preferences, choose according to your budget.

1. Indica Vista QJD

2. Indica Vista TDI

3. Indica V2 Non Turbo

It takes less time to do things right than to explain why you did it wrong.

@ lalit,

as suggested by all a diesel car would be the best suitable for ur usage type & today's diesel cars are much refined & better.

if u can stretch ur budget than u can also consider ritz ddis or the indica vista quadrajet.

just go & have a look at both these cars & see the price & than decide.

Thanks for your reply. I will surely consider diesel car too. But i dont link looks of TATA cars. (It seems you are running a private taxi Tongue out)

Again which is batter - New Zen Estilo Vxi (K series engine) and Satro Xing GLS.
Pls keep in mind i am getting less value and no exchange bonus from Maruti)

One of my friend is also interested in any of these cars. His monthly running is lesser than mine (Only 1000 - 1200 KM per month)

Haven't seen the new estilo in real. So cant comment much. If it were to be compared to the old Estilo then it the Santro on all fronts.

In my opinion over all, New Estilo would be better due to following circumstances

1. Its Maruti, good after sales service.

2. More refined BS 4 engine.

3. New suspension setup.

4. More features in VXI compare to Santro.

5. More mileage than Santro

However, santro has bumpy ride on rear seat. (Seating like in Autorickshaw)

Please take TD of both cars with your family.
